SSE-CMM
ISSEA is tasked with the maintenance and development of the Systems Security Engineering
Capability Maturity Model (SSE-CMM). This site holds detailed information about the SSE-CMM
including an electronic copies of the model and appraisal method.
ISO
A non-governmental organization established in 1947, the International Organization for
Standardization (ISO), is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies from more than
140 countries. The SSE-CMM was accepted as ISO 21827 in 2002.
JTC1
The Joint Technical Committee 1 (JTC1) was created by ISO and the International ElectroChemical
Commission (IEC) to provide a single, comprehensive standardization committee in which to address
international Information Technology standardization.
SC27
SC 27 is a subcommittee of the JTC1. Its area of work is standardization of generic methods and
techniques for IT security. ISSEA is a liason member of SC27.
ISSPCS
ISSEA is overseeing the implementation of a global and open certification scheme for IT and
systems security professionals that addresses the shortfalls of traditional IT security
certifications by founding the scheme on essential principles of security.
Initial development of the scheme is to be jointly undertaken by the
University of Queensland (UQ),
Electronic Warfare Associates Australia (EWA-Australia),
and the Australian Computer Emergency Response Team (AusCERT).
(ISC)2
International Information Systems Security Certifications Consortium, Inc. (ISC)2,
is a global, not-for-profit organization dedicated to maintaining a common body of knowledge
for information security (IS), certifying industry professionals and practitioners in an
international IS standard, administering training and certification examinations, and ensuring
credentials are maintained, primarily through continuing education.
