Welcome to ISSEA

The International Systems Security Engineering Association (ISSEA) is dedicated to the advancement of systems security engineering as a defined and measurable discipline through the further development of its theory and practice.

As such, ISSEA’s objectives are:
  • To promote and enhance the Systems Security Engineering Capability Maturity Model (SSE-CMM – ISO/IEC 21827), and encourage its use in system and software developments where appropriate.

  • To promote mature security capability among system and software developers, service providers, operations managers, and risk management professionals; and ensure security be integral to development, integration, test, fielding, and operation of a system throughout its life cycle.

  • To provide educational and networking opportunities to the systems security engineering community.

Structure and Governance:

ISSEA, a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization, was established in 1999. It is an international membership-based organization composed of the world’s top security engineering professionals. Its members pride themselves on giving direction to and responding quickly to new developments in the security engineering needs of the government, the public, and academia.
 
ISSEA is governed by an elected Board of Directors.
